Lucy Russell

I am a full time equine veterinarian by day, and a competitive dressage rider in my spare time! I run “Russell Equine”, a boutique performance horse breeding operation also offering short term agistment of sport horses from our home on a 300 acre beef farm in Palmerston North. I live and breath horses, they are my livelihood, my hobby and my passion!

I currently have two competition horses; HPH Prospero, a little level 4 horse with a big ego, and Donneroyale, an exciting 5 year old who I think will be quite special, level 2 this season. I have a particular interest in sport horse performance and rehabilitation. I’m excited to work alongside Sue with the Harry Dabbs brand who offer a unique custom fitted, extensive, high quality saddle range. I think this could offer a real solution to a lot of people struggling with a horse with saddle fit issues, as well as those horses and riders that are easier to fit and looking for a beautiful saddle.

Grace Karsten

Wow check out this young lady! Grace Karsten our youngest Brand Ambassador riding Fudge! Flying in her Harry Dabbs Saddle lol...

Grace started riding at age 2 and by 4 years old  she was cantering around and learning to jump. To say she is horse mad is an understatement , her love of riding is evident to everyone. She attends Hamilton pony club,  Hamilton Light Horse Club and enjoys farm riding and adventures at the beach. She rides where ever and when ever she can.

Last September 2018 Grace was selected to represent Hamilton pony club at the National Show Hunter Champs in Foxton . There she was the youngest rider out of 148 competitors and came 4th in one of her rounds . Her goal is to carry on competing in show hunter as well as having loads of fun and doing the occasional trick riding stunts which includes riding backwards, sliding off her pony's bum and standing on her pony's back whilst trotting and going over jumps.

One day she hopes to ride for New Zealand at the Olympics.
